8 Malaysian Government Portals Worth Bookmarking in 2026

Eight official Malaysian government portals and apps that save a counter queue — what each one actually does, what it costs, and the catch nobody mentions until you are already logged in.

Somewhere on your phone is a folder of half-forgotten government apps, and somewhere in Putrajaya is a portal that would have saved you a morning of leave. The gap between those two facts is where most Malaysian admin pain lives.

The good news is that the useful ones have consolidated. You do not need fifteen logins any more. You need about eight, and a rough sense of which one does what.

Here they are, grouped by what they actually do for you.

The two that protect your money

1. Semak Mule — check before you pay a stranger

Run by PDRM's Commercial Crime Investigation Department, Semak Mule lets you paste in a bank account number, phone number or company name and see whether it has been reported in a commercial crime case. The check takes under a minute and costs nothing.

The honest caveat, which the portal itself makes: a "no record" result is not a clean bill of health. Scammers cycle through fresh accounts that no victim has reported yet. Treat a hit as a hard stop and a miss as neutral, not as reassurance.

Use it for: any transfer to a seller you have not met. Cost: free.

2. eGUMIS — the RM13 billion nobody has claimed

The Accountant General's Department runs eGUMIS, the register of unclaimed moneys. As of January 2026 there was more than RM13 billion sitting in it: dormant savings accounts, matured fixed deposits, unpaid salaries, insurance proceeds, tender deposits.

Searching is free. Registering is free. Claiming is free. JANM does not appoint agents and does not charge a processing fee, so anyone offering to "help" you claim for a cut is running a different business entirely.

We covered the full process in how to check whether you have unclaimed money in Malaysia.

Use it for: a five-minute search using your IC number. Cost: free.

The three you already owe something to

3. MyJPJ — everything with wheels

MyJPJ has quietly absorbed most of what used to require a physical trip to a JPJ counter. Road tax renewal, digital driving licence, digital road tax display, vehicle ownership records and summons checks all sit in one app.

The upgrade a lot of people missed: since February 2025, provisional licence holders can convert a P licence to a full Competent Driving Licence through MyJPJ without visiting a counter at all.

If you are due a renewal, our step-by-step on renewing your driving licence online walks through the screens.

Use it for: road tax, licence renewal, P-to-full conversion, summons. Cost: the underlying government fee only.

4. MyTax — the LHDN front door

MyTax is the single sign-on for everything LHDN. e-Filing, e-Daftar for a new tax number, refund status, ledger of payments and the e-invoicing modules all sit behind the same login.

The most common frustration is not the filing itself but the first-time registration and PIN activation, which people leave until the week the filing deadline lands. Do that part in a quiet month.

Use it for: filing, tax number registration, refund tracking. Cost: free.

5. KWSP i-Akaun — balances, nominations, withdrawals

The KWSP app and i-Akaun web portal handle balance checks across Akaun 1, 2 and 3, nomination updates, i-Invest transactions and withdrawal applications.

Nomination is the one worth doing today rather than someday. It takes minutes online and it is the difference between your family filing a claim and your family filing paperwork for a year.

Use it for: balance, nominee, withdrawals, i-Invest. Cost: free.

The three that verify who you are

6. PADU — the household data profile

PADU is the central database of individual and household information that underpins targeted subsidy decisions. The point of logging in is not the dashboard; it is checking whether the income, address and household composition on file are actually yours and actually current.

If your details have not been touched since registration, our guide to PADU registration and profile updates covers what to check.

Use it for: verifying your household record. Cost: free.

7. MySejahtera — still the health front desk

MySejahtera outlived the pandemic and turned into a general health services app. Klinik Kesihatan appointment booking, immunisation records, health screening programmes and vaccination scheduling all run through it.

Booking an appointment beats walking in and taking a number, particularly at busier klinik kesihatan in Klang Valley.

Use it for: klinik kesihatan appointments, health records. Cost: free.

8. MyDigital ID — the login behind the logins

MyDigital ID is the national digital identity layer, and it increasingly sits between you and other government services rather than being a destination in itself. Verification is done once, in person, and after that it acts as your authenticated login across participating agencies.

If you have not registered, it is the kind of task that is mildly annoying now and blocking later.

Use it for: authenticated access to government services. Cost: free.

The three rules that save you the most grief

Only trust the official domain. Government services sit on .gov.my. Anything ending in .com that offers to renew, check or claim on your behalf is either a middleman or worse. Type the address; do not click it from a message.

No government portal charges a middleman fee. Searching eGUMIS, checking Semak Mule and registering on MyTax are all free. Fees exist only for the underlying service, like a road tax renewal, and are paid inside the official app.

Do the boring registration early. Almost every complaint about these portals is really a complaint about first-time activation — the PIN, the verification, the in-person step. None of it is hard. All of it is miserable when you are doing it against a deadline.

FAQ

Is Semak Mule free to use?

Yes. Semak Mule is run by PDRM's Commercial Crime Investigation Department and costs nothing. You enter a bank account number, phone number or company name and get a result in under a minute. A "no record" result does not confirm the seller is legitimate — new mule accounts have not been reported yet.

How do I check if I have unclaimed money in Malaysia?

Search eGUMIS, the Accountant General's Department portal, using your identification number. Searching, registering and claiming are all free, and JANM does not appoint agents or charge processing fees.

Which government app do I need for road tax and driving licence?

MyJPJ. It handles road tax renewal, the digital driving licence and road tax display, summons, and since February 2025, converting a provisional P licence to a full Competent Driving Licence online.

Do I still need MySejahtera in 2026?

It is no longer a pandemic app, but it remains the booking channel for klinik kesihatan appointments and holds immunisation and screening records, so it is worth keeping installed.

How can I tell a fake government website?

Official Malaysian government services use .gov.my domains. Reach them by typing the address or through the official app, not by tapping links in SMS, WhatsApp or social media messages.
