Pantun Is UNESCO Heritage and Most Malaysians Only Meet It at Weddings

UNESCO inscribed pantun as intangible cultural heritage in December 2020, in a rare joint Malaysia-Indonesia listing. The four-line form is older than either country, but the thing that kept it alive was never the verse itself.
