In practice, the 2026 rollout has focused on women aged 40 to 70. In Melaka, for example, 1,318 women in that age band had been screened for free by June, against a state target of 1,800, Malay Mail reported. State officials said places were still available under the quota.

How to register for a free mammogram
The process is straightforward:
- Find your nearest Klinik Nur Sejahtera or watch for LPPKN outreach programmes in your area.
- Register in person, or through the eMamogram portal linked from the MyGOV page.
- Get an appointment date at a participating panel centre. In Melaka, those panels are three private hospitals.
- Bring your MyKad and any referral letter or previous results you have.
Quotas are set per state and per year. If your state is close to its target by October, you may be offered a later slot, so register early rather than waiting for the end of Pink October.
Why screening policy in Malaysia is not one-size-fits-all
You may have heard different advice about when to start. That is because Malaysia does not run a nationwide population mammogram programme.
