BTS are playing Kuala Lumpur on 12 and 13 December 2026, and the tickets are already gone. That is not the interesting part. The interesting part is what Malaysian fans did before KL was even on the table.

The KL shows, in short

The BTS World Tour "ARIRANG" plays TM Stadium Nasional in Bukit Jalil on Saturday 12/12/2026 and Sunday 13/12/2026, with a 7:30pm show time, according to Live Nation Malaysia. The listing shows the event as sold out.

Sales ran in stages in June: ARMY Membership presale on 03/06, then further presales on 04/06 and general sale on 05/06. Live Nation's terms cap purchases at four tickets per transaction and eight per show date. The show is all-seated, and the listing says reselling tickets is prohibited.

Malaysian ARMY had already made the trip

Here is the part that says more than any sold-out banner. When BTS announced their first world tour in nearly four years on 13/01/2026, Malaysian fans did not wait for a local date. According to a Malay Mail report, some headed to cyber cafes to fight for tickets to the opening Goyang shows in South Korea.

The same report cites ticket prices of roughly RM570 to RM700 per seat, plus RM1,800 to RM2,000 for flights and RM350 to RM580 a night for accommodation. Queue numbers reportedly passed 120,000. One fan called the process a test of all her past ticketing experience.

That is a lot of ringgit and stress to spend before a single note is played.

What this says about KL as a tour stop

The editorial view: a stop on the tour map does not shrink demand, it reveals it. Malaysian fans have shown they will travel abroad if they have to. Once a local date exists, everyone who would have flown to Goyang competes with everyone who would not have travelled at all.

Malaysia's concert scene has been building toward this. We covered how many concerts Malaysia now hosts earlier this year, and a two-night stadium run by one of the biggest acts in the world is the top end of that trend.

If you missed out

The official sale is over. A few sensible habits still apply:

  • Treat resale offers with caution. The listing says reselling is prohibited, so tickets offered by strangers on social media deserve serious scepticism.
  • Know how to report a scam. If you get burned, the NSRC 997 reporting guide shows what to do.
  • Buy smarter next time. Our guide to buying concert tickets without getting burned covers presales and safe channels.
